What is Keep It Wholesome?

Hi! My name is Simon, I'm currently a 19 year old college student and near the beginning of 2020, I decided to begin creating content on TikTok surrounding positive mental health topics! Some of the earliest videos included video series such as "Reasons To Smile" and "Reason to Keep Living". To my surprise, these videos began to catch on extremely quickly and we began to form a community around the three word phrase I ended each video off with: Keep It Wholesome. In the following few months we decided to launch a clothing/accessory brand in order to provide small reminders to keep going. In addition, we have dedicated a portion of profits from each sale to go towards different nonprofit organizations (the Jed Foundation, Nami, Team Trees, Trevor Project, Project Semicolon are all notable organizations that we have raised money for in past releases!)

Since Then Keep It Wholesome has grown to become a worldwide community of people dedicated to spreading positivity and emphasising the importance of taking care of your own mental health. Throughout this journey I've been forced to learn a lot about business, faced some of the toughest challenges in my life, and ultimately have been able to grow alongside this amazing community. It hasn't all been easy, but I'm so beyond excited to see what is to come!

The 2020 School Build Project

This is the story of our proudest accomplishment ever.

Back in May of 2020, I posted this video in an attempt to crowdfund $30,000 in order to build a school in Malawi.

Crazy right?

Well for some reason I decided that it would indeed be possible for random strangers on tiktok to be able to

1. trust me enough to donate to the cause

2. actually care enough to share the video to their friends.

Social media is often criticized in a negative light so in my mind, this would be the ultimate way to prove that there are still positive uses to it.

Well all my expectations were blown away when a little over 2 months later (2 months and 4 days to be exact) we officially reached our goal.

And in January 2021, a school building was raised in Malawi. This school system (where our school building was built) supports over 750 students now.

For more information about the organization that sustainably builds these schools on trek: visit here.

(I literally found them with a google search and have now learned so much about their amazing work!)
